12th Annual New York’s Funniest Reporter’s Announced


David Weiss / Show Emcee

A native New Yorker, David’s radio and TV career of nearly 40 years has spanned the fields of news anchoring and reporting, sportscaster and TV & radio talk show host as well as a 4-year stint as a TV weather person. His career journey has taken him from Massachusetts to Rhode Island, and then returning in 1989 to Long Island and New York City. For the past 12 years, he has been heard as a news anchor at 1010 WINS. He is also the radio voice of Long Island Ducks baseball, and editor of Long Island’s ‘Golfing Magazine.’ David took part in the 2017 New York’s Funniest Reporter event and has become a popular presence on the Long Island standup comedy circuit. David lives on the south shore of Suffolk County with his wife, two daughters, and neurotic therapy dog.

Wale Aliyu is an award-winning journalist who joined NBC 4 New York in July, 2016. He comes to the Big Apple following six years in the Buckeye State, reporting for WKYC in Cleveland and ABC 22/FOX 45 in Dayton. In 2015, Wale’s work was recognized by the Press Club of Cleveland, which awarded him the Ohio Excellence in Journalism award for Online Storytelling, as well as the Ohio Excellence in Journalism award for Online General News Story.

Ralphie’s voice for years was heard weeknights on 95.5 PLJ in New York City as well as Providence, Rhode Island (92 PRO-FM) and Scranton, Pennsylvania (97.1/95.7 BHT). For over five years he hosted “Countdown Nation,” a weekend program that was heard on a handful of Cumulus Media stations from coast-to-coast. He is a regular on-site contributor to Westwood One’s coverage of The GRAMMYs, the Billboard Music Awards and the American Music Awards. He has interviewed many of pop’s biggest names, including Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

Archie Snowden is an award-winning video journalist/reporter with more than 10 years of experience working in the New York market. He got his start in news media as a producer with WMDT in Salisbury Maryland in 2000. Since then he has covered nearly every major news and sports event – from the elections to the Super Bowl. He joined Verizon FiOS 1 News in December 2017. He now operates as a One-Man-Band breaking news and assignment reporter, covering his home-zone of Long Island.
